SUV Slams Into Business Storefront In Westport WESTPORT, Conn. -- Two people escaped injury after their SUV slammed into a business on Post Road East in Westport on Thursday afternoon, fire officials said. When fire officials arrived at 4:30 p.m., they discovered the two occupants were out of the vehicle and unhurt. The building was unoccupied at the time. Crews from Westport Fire Department Rescue 3 and Engine 5 stabilized the vehicle in place and inspected the building to ensure it was not heavily damaged. The man fell on the driveway and hit his head, police said. The common driveway is in the circle between Scoops and Village Market.
