Stamford Police Arrest Man, Look For Second, In Gun Battle STAMFORD, Conn. -- One man was under arrest and police were searching for a second man in connection with a shootout early Sunday outside a fraternal organization club. Freddie Hicks, 32, of 20 Cedar St., was arrested while walking near his home around 7 p.m. Tuesday, police said.  Stamford police Capt. Woman Uses Wine Bottle To Smash Stamford Hotel TV During Smoking Dispute STAMFORD, Conn. -- A woman threw a wine bottle at a television in a Stamford hotel room' during a dispute about who had been smoking cigarettes early Tuesday, police said. Athena Newend, 25, of 3455 8th St., NW, New York City, was charged with second-degree criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. Police were called to the Sheraton Hotel on East Main Street at about 5 a.m. after a disturbance reported in a room. There were three other occupants in the room at the time, police said. The room's telephone was also damaged along with the television, police said.

Francis Cullen was struck by the van around 9 a.m. Thursday, fell to the ground and hit his head on a driveway. The accident occurred in the common driveway of Scoops and the Village Market. Police are continuing to investigate and no charges are pending, they said.

Taco Bell/KFC Manager In Norwalk Charged With Stealing Day's Receipts NORWALK, Conn. -- Live mas. The former manager of a Taco Bell KFC outlet allegedly didn't deposit one day's worth of receipts back in August, Norwalk police said. The incident reportedly occurred on Aug. 10, and on Aug. 30 it was reported to police. The manager maintained that she made the deposit of $1,168.98 and provided paperwork for it, but police said the deposit was never made. Theresa Davis, 38, of 15 Oak Hill St., Stamford was arrested and charged with fourth-degree larceny. Her bond was set at $5,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 10.

The suspect was described as a black male dressed in black and wearing a ski mask. He took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled before officers arrived, police said.
