Stamford Police Arrest Man, Look For Second, In Gun Battle STAMFORD, Conn. -- One man was under arrest and police were searching for a second man in connection with a shootout early Sunday outside a fraternal organization club. Freddie Hicks, 32, of 20 Cedar St., was arrested while walking near his home around 7 p.m. Tuesday, police said. Stamford police Capt. Richard Conklin said Hicks is alleged to be one of two shooters who blasted 10 to 15 rounds at one another around 2 a.m. after they had a dispute inside the club at 33 Mission St. Police Sgt. Woman Uses Wine Bottle To Smash Stamford Hotel TV During Smoking Dispute STAMFORD, Conn. -- A woman threw a wine bottle at a television in a Stamford hotel room' during a dispute about who had been smoking cigarettes early Tuesday, police said. Athena Newend, 25, of 3455 8th St., NW, New York City, was charged with second-degree criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. Police were called to the Sheraton Hotel on East Main Street at about 5 a.m. after a disturbance reported in a room. There were three other occupants in the room at the time, police said. The room's telephone was also damaged along with the television, police said.

Ridgefield Man, 75, Dies Three Days After Being Struck By Van In Wilton WILTON, Conn. -- A 75-year-old Ridgefield man died in the hospital Sunday, three days after he was struck by a van in Wilton, police said. Francis Cullen was struck by the van around 9 a.m. Thursday, fell to the ground and hit his head on a driveway. The accident occurred in the common driveway of Scoops and the Village Market. Police are continuing to investigate and no charges are pending, they said.

Two Men Charged With Buying Motor Oil With Fake Credit Cards In Stamford STAMFORD, Conn. — Two men from Brooklyn, N.Y., are facing charges in connection with on ongoing scheme of using fraudulent credit cards to buy motor oil, Stamford Police said. As David Junior Cerant, 31, of 1414 Brooklyn Ave., waited to pay for his nearly $400 in motor oil at the Advance Auto Parts location on East Main Street on Friday evening, officers strolled in the door to arrest him as store staff discovered the credit card was fraudulent, police said. Taco Bell/KFC Manager In Norwalk Charged With Stealing Day's Receipts NORWALK, Conn. -- Live mas. The former manager of a Taco Bell KFC outlet allegedly didn't deposit one day's worth of receipts back in August, Norwalk police said. The incident reportedly occurred on Aug. 10, and on Aug. 30 it was reported to police. The manager maintained that she made the deposit of $1,168.98 and provided paperwork for it, but police said the deposit was never made. Theresa Davis, 38, of 15 Oak Hill St., Stamford was arrested and charged with fourth-degree larceny. Her bond was set at $5,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 10.

Police: Norwalk Gas Station Robbed At Gunpoint NORWALK, Conn. -- A man armed with a handgun robbed the Mobil gas station at 31 North Ave. late Thursday, Norwalk Police said. The suspect was described as a black male dressed in black and wearing a ski mask. He took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled before officers arrived, police said. The robbery occurred at 9:55 p.m. Thursday. No one was reported hurt, and police were continuing the investigation.

Norwalk Man Arrested After Being Found In Ex-Girlfriend's Bedroom NORWALK, Conn. -- A Norwalk woman's former boyfriend was arrested after he was found inside her locked bedroom, said police. John Woods, 44, of Norwalk, was charged with first-degree criminal trespass. HIs bond was set at $15,000, and he was scheduled to appear in court Friday. Stamford Man Charged With Bias In Attack; More Suspects Sought STAMFORD, Conn. -- A Stamford man exchanged with words a group of Hispanic men who were drinking beer, then returned with some friends to attack the group, sending one of the victims to hospital for three days, Stamford police said.
