New Canaan Cops: Two Pedestrians Hit By Car Taken To Norwalk Hospital NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- Two pedestrians were rushed to Norwalk Hospital after they were struck by a vehicle at South Avenue and Harrison Avenue at 6:21 p.m. Monday, New Canaan Police said. Police were initially told one pedestrian was hit only to discover upon their arrival that there were two victims. Police are continuing the investigation Monday night and said the extent of the injuries suffered were unknown at this time. Police Identify Stamford High Student Who Died After Being Hit By Van STAMFORD, Conn. — An 18-year-old student who died of the injuries she suffered after she was hit by a van while crossing Strawberry Hill Avenue to get to Stamford High on Saturday morning, has been identified by police. Karina Tinajero-Arreguin of 1425 Bedford St. was killed in the accident, police said.  Tinajero-Arreguin, a Stamford High senior, was transported with severe injuries to Stamford Hospital, where she died Saturday afternoon, police said.  The victim has a large and extended family who need to be notified, police said Saturday.
