Police: Darien Yacht Club's Credit Card Used For Fraudulent Purchases DARIEN, Conn. — Someone got ahold of a Noroton Yacht Club credit card and went on a bit of a spending spree, Darien Police said. The club's bookkeeper discovered the card was used for a total of 25 transactions with all but one occurring in Willimantic, police said.  Ten transactions occurred in October — one of which was in Darien — for a total of $198. Bridgeport Man Charged With Stealing Laptop From Car In Easton EASTON, Conn. -- A man wanted in connection with the theft of a laptop computer from a vehicle in Easton in May was picked up by Bridgeport Police on Sunday and handed over to Easton Police. Police said there was a warrant for Jerry L. Torres' arrest in connection with the May 18 incident in Easton. Police said he was found with the laptop, and he's charged with fourth-degree larceny. Torres couldn't post $15,000 bond and was held for arraignment Monday.

Qadir Al-Amir, 38, of 43 Yale St., Bridgeport, was arrested in Norwalk on Dec. 14, 2014.
