Fingerprint From Iced Tea Links Teen To Stolen Car In Westport WESTPORT, Conn. -- A taste for Arizona Ice Tea has led to the arrest of a Waterbury teenager by Westport Police in connection with a stolen car last winter. Stafford Angus, 19, was charged with second-degree larceny, first-degree conspiracy to commit larceny, third-degree burglary and third-degree larceny. His bond was set at $50,000 and he has a court date of Dec. 7. Westport Police said a vehicle stolen from a Silver Brook Road residence on Feb. 24 was recovered in Waterbury on March 10. Norwalk Police Nab Man Wanted In Florida For Skipping Court In Car Theft NORWALK, Conn., -- A man who disappeared after failing to appear in a Florida court was arrested by Norwalk Police hiding out in a city home. Norwalk Police got a tip that Julio Gonzalez-Morales, 20, was staying at a Reservoir Avenue home, Lt. Terry Blake said. They followed up on the tip and found him at the residence Thursday at about 9 a.m. and arrested him without incident as a fugitive from justice. Residents Displaced, Firefighters Injured In Blaze At Stamford House STAMFORD, Conn. -- At least a half-dozen people were displaced and two firefighters injured in a Friday afternoon blaze at a Stamford semi-detached residence at 38-40 Lockwood Ave. Capt. James Romaniello said the cause of the three-alarm fire was still being investigated. Stamford Mother Arrested After 8-Year-Old Child Wanders From Home STAMFORD, Conn. — A Stamford mother who told police a false story that a neighbor was watching her 8-year-old while she went to get her 4-year-old at a daycare Wednesday afternoon was charged with interfering with police. The 32-year-old woman took a taxicab to pick up her 4-year-old and left her 8-year-old in her 80 Lafayette apartment, police said. Police: Stamford Woman Passed Out In Car Had Four Times Legal Alcohol Limit STAMFORD, Conn. -- A Stamford woman found passed out in her vehicle Wednesday afternoon in Stamford had a blood-alcohol limit four times the legal limit, police said. The police officer who wrote the report that that recording of 0.3294 was "not a typo" about the extraordinarily high reading. The legal limit is .08. Bottle With 'Odd' Items Causes Bomb Scare At Greenwich Point GREENWICH, Conn. — A bottle that contained "some odd items" caused the Greenwich Police Department to call out the Stamford Police Department bomb squad and close off an area of Greenwich Point on Thursday morning. Stamford Police: Norwalk Man Found With 'Good And Plenty' Heroin STAMFORD, Conn. -- A man who has been on the Stamford Police Department's "radar" was arrested on drug charges Wednesday on High Ridge Road. Patrol officers were told by the department's Narcotic and Organized Crime Unit that there was an arrest warrant for the man, who frequents the area of the 1200 block of High Ridge Road. Child, 5, Freed By Stamford Firefighters After Foot Is Caught In Escalator STAMFORD, Conn. -- Firefighters worked for nearly 40 minutes before successfully freeing a 5-year-old child whose foot that had become caught in an escalator at Macy's Department store at the Stamford Town Center on Wednesday night.
