Wilton Running Club Girl Takes 2nd At National Cross Country Race WILTON, Conn. – Angela Saidman of the Wilton Running Club finished second Saturday in the 11-12 girls age group at the Junior Olympic cross country national championships in San Antonio, Texas. Saidman ran 10:42.68 for 3,000 meters, and trailed winner Devianna Salcedo by 14 seconds. There were 405 runners in the race. Saidman, who lives in Bethel, finished third in the regional race last month to qualify for nationals. She finished seventh in the national race last year. She is coached by Mary Zengo at the Wilton Running Club.

Fairfield County Races Switched Due To Snowy Forecast FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Saturday’s expected snow has forced two Fairfield County races to move their events to different days. Gail’s Trail Run in Redding will now be run on Saturday, Dec. 14, while the Holiday Run For Toys in Fairfield will be pushed back to Sunday, Dec. 22. Gail’s Trail Run begins at 8 a.m. at Huntington State Park in Redding. Registration for the 6-mile cross country race begins at 7 a.m. The race had been scheduled for Sunday. Darien Family Makes Strides In Girl's Fight Against Arthritis DARIEN, Conn. – Until this spring, Erin Edgar of Darien danced, took karate lessons and enjoyed the typical activities of an 11-year-old girl. But doctors diagnosed her with arthritis in June, and the young girl and her family have been fighting back ever since. Erin will join her family, including her mother Dawn and father Pat, in Saturday’s Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis in Purchase, N.Y.
