Wilton Cycling Team Honored For CT Challenge Fundraising WILTON, Conn. -- The Connecticut Challenge honored its Road Warriors and top 20 teams for 2013, including a team from Wilton,  at a recent reception at the CT Challenge Center for Survivorship.  Each Road Warrior commits to raising at least $3,000 to support the ride and most participate on teams. This year’s teams accounted for 85 percent of the record $1.65 million that was raised on the ride. Greenwich Hospital Hosts Tree Of Light Celebration GREENWICH, Conn. –The Greenwich Hospital Home Hospice Program held its 14th Tree of Light celebration on Monday at the hospital.  The annual nondenominational event featured readings and music and culminated with the lighting of an evergreen tree strung with hundreds of lights in memory or in honor of loved ones. Donations from the purchase of the lights support the hospital’s Home Hospice Program, which provides end-of-life care to individuals, regardless of their ability to pay. Darien Runner Finishes 11th At National Cross Country Race DARIEN, Conn. – Darien High School junior Alex Ostberg finished 11th Saturday at the Foot Locker cross country national championships in San Diego. Ostberg finished the 5-kilometer (3.1 mile) course in 15:31. Grant Fisher won the race in 15:07.  The race featured the top 40 runners in the nation. Ostberg proved he belonged from the start. New Canaan Wins State Football Title; Fairfield Prep Game Delayed By Snow FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – New Canaan won the Class L state football championship, but Fairfield Prep will have to wait until Sunday, at least, to play for the Class LL title. The Rams defeated Darien, 44-12, at Boyle Stadium in Stamford. But Fairfield Prep’s game against Southington was postponed because of the snow. The teams are scheduled to meet Sunday at 3:05 p.m. at West Haven High School. The game, however, may be delayed until Monday, depending on travel conditions.
