Siberians Enjoy The Winter Wonderland In Weston WESTON, Conn. -- While Tuesday's snow kept many people indoors, three Siberian Huskies owned by the Peyreigne family in Weston relished playing in the white stuff. Zeus, Apollo and Athena felt right at home in Tuesday's winter wonderland and took advantage of the play time to run, jump and lie in the snow.  The snow has been a welcome sight for the Siberian Huskies, who are all about 5 years old.  Warmer temperatures are forecast over the next several days, and -- bad news for the Sibes and other snow lovers -- no more snow is predicted over the next few days.

Fairfield Prep Football Coach Wins MSG Varsity Honor FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield Prep football coach Tom Shea was named the MSG Varsity Coach of the Year in Connecticut on Monday. Shea, a 1973 grad of Prep and an English teacher at the school, has led the team to the Class LL championship game. Prep will play Southington for the championship Thursday in a game that has been postponed three times due to snow and the inability to clear the bleachers of ice at West Haven High School. New Canaan's Cole Harris Named Player Of The Year By MSG Varsity NEW CANAAN, Conn. – New Canaan High School football player Cole Harris was named Monday as the MSG Varsity Player of the Year in Connecticut. Harris, a senior, led the Rams to the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference and Class L championship. He was the anchor for the Rams’ defense, recording 170 tackles, three interceptions, seven caused fumbles and three fumble recoveries. He also scored five touchdowns. The game is now scheduled to be played Thursday at West Haven High School beginning at 6:35 p.m. The game was originally scheduled for Saturday. Westport Teams Honored For CT Challenge Fundraising WESTPORT, Conn. -- The Connecticut Challenge honored its Road Warriors and top 20 teams for 2013, including teams from Westport, at a recent reception at the CT Challenge Center for Survivorship. Each Road Warrior commits to raising at least $3,000 to support the ride and most participate on team.  This year’s teams accounted for 85 percent of the record $1.65 million that was raised on the July ride.
