Darien Football Looks To Tackle New Canaan For State Championship DARIEN, Conn. – Darien High School’s football team won three state titles between 1991 and 1996. In four subsequent trips, however, the Blue Wave have come up short. On Saturday, against its archrival and in one of Fairfield County’s most historic environments, the Blue Wave get another chance. Darien meets New Canaan Saturday at 11:05 a.m. in the Class L championship at Stamford High’s Boyle Stadium. Sites, Times Moved For State Title Games For Fairfield County Teams FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Starting times for the state championship football games involving Darien, New Canaan and Fairfield Prep were changed Thursday morning due to a forecast for snow this weekend. Darien and New Canaan will now play for the Class L championship on Saturday, Dec. 14, at Boyle Stadium in Stamford. Darien Girls Help Synchronized Skating Team Win Gold DARIEN, Conn. – Two girls from Darien competed for the Skyliners Beginner team that won a gold medal Saturday at the Terry Conners Synchronized Skating Open in Stamford. Lily Hudson and Ivey Rao skated on the winning team for the Skyliners, whose teams also won the Pre-Juvenile and Juvenile competitions. Skyliners took second in the Preliminary Division. Skyliners represent the Springdale Figure Skating Club in Stamford and the Skating Club of New York. The team has nine competitive lines with 176 skaters ranging in ages from 9 to 23. Young Norwalk Wrestlers Win 5 Gold Medals In Opening Meet NORWALK, Conn. -- The Norwalk Mad Bull Youth wrestling club won five gold medals and grabbed 10 medals in the Connecticut Green Knights season kickoff wrestling tournament held in Terryville. Nicky Singer, Jason Singer, Koy Price, Jack Cahill and Mikey Bartush captured gold medals. Sam White, Noah Fraas, Damari Maxam, Jacob Gonzales and Charlie Prather finished second. Registration Opens For Norwalk Little League NORWALK, Conn. – Online registration has opened for the Norwalk Little League. Players ages 4 to 12 can register online. MakerBot In Greenwich Holds Children's 3D Printing Class GREENWICH, Conn. -- The recently opened MakerBot in Greenwich is registering children for a 3D printing class. Admission is $10 for the class, which is for kids ages 8-and-up. The workshop offers an intro to Tinkercad, a simple software to design things, then build them in real-life using a MakerBot Replicator 2 Desktop 3D Printer.
