Body Discovered In Carmel Is Identified As Local Man, 53 CARMEL, N.Y. -- The dead body found off of Route 6 in Carmel on Tuesday has been identified as a local man, the Putnam County Sheriff's Department announced. Mark Conroy's body was found in a wooded area to the west of the intersection with John Simpson Road and several hundred yards from the northern side of Route 6, according to the sheriff's department.
