Yonkers Boy Charged With Arson After Fire YONKERS, N.Y. -- A 12-year-old Yonkers boy has been charged with second-degree arson after a fire on Saratoga Avenue in Yonkers, according to Yonkers Police. Police responded to the fire about 10:24 p.m. on Saturday at 191 Saratoga Ave. After an investigation, the boy was taken into custody, police said. He is being held at Woodfield Cottage, the Westchester County juvenile detention center in Valhalla, according to police. Gabriel Rosenfeld, World War II Veteran, of New Castle, Dies CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- Gabriel Rosenfeld, a World War II veteran, died on Aug. 6, the Town of New Castle announced in its weekly newsletter. The newsletter notes that Rosenfeld, also was a Purple Heart recipient, served on the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) for 35 years, from 1975 to 2010. He served as chair from 1980 to 2007, it notes. Funding Approved For Repairs To County Roads In New Castle CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- Several county roads in New Castle are among those that will have work paid for through funding approved by the Westchester County Board of Legislators, according to County Executive Rob Astorino's office.
