Greenwich Enacts Emergency Water Ban As Drought Persists GREENWICH, Conn. -- Greenwich has moved to a Stage 1 emergency water ban as the town and region grapples with a drought with no immediate ending in sight. The Board of Selectmen enacted the ban on Thursday and police can give tickets of $91 to those who violate the ban. Greenwich Police have so far responded to 149 complaints of water usage and with 67 property owners given warnings and education on the severe water shortage was given to 75 property owners, according to police statistics. Norwalk Police: Autopsy Planned In Death Of 4-Month-Old Baby NORWALK, Conn. --- An autopsy on a 4-month-old child who died at Norwalk Hospital after police responded to a Hunters Lane home daycare will be done Friday, Norwalk Police said Thursday. Detectives from the Connecticut State Police's Western District Major Crime responded to the scene at about 10:45 a.m. Thursday and assumed control of the investigation into the death of the baby at the request of the state's attorney's office. Stamford Man Charged With Assaulting Hospital Security Officers STAMFORD, Conn. -- A Stamford man fought with a pair of security guards as he tried to get into the old, closed part of Stamford Hospital on Wednesday morning, police said. Baby Found Dead At Day Care Reportedly Run By Daughter Of Norwalk Mayor NORWALK, Conn. — A 4-month-old baby who was at a Norwalk home daycare died Wednesday, Norwalk Police said. Police were investigating at the home at 9 Hunters Lane, according to The Hour. Three Charged, One At Large In Death of Bridgeport Man Hit By Brick BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Three people have been charged with manslaughter and Bridgeport police are seeking a fourth in connection with the death of a 41-year-old city man who was struck by a brick while he was a passenger in a Jeep on July 16. Police: Bethel Man Stopped For Speeding Facing Weapons Charges BETHEL, Conn. — A man freely admitted to a Bethel Police officer he had smoked marijuana before leaving home to go to work Tuesday morning, but a search of his vehicle after he was stopped for speeding turned up a 6-inch hunting blade and a hatchet resulting in a pair of weapons charges for him, police said.
