New Canaan Boy, 5, Who Nearly Drowned At Chelsea Piers Remains Unconscious A 5-year-old boy who nearly drowned in a pool Thursday while attending day camp at Chelsea Piers in Stamford remained unconscious Friday in the intensive care unit of Yale-New Haven Hospital, according to the Stamford Advocate. Pilot Dies Of Injuries Suffered In Plane Crash At Danbury Airport The man who was piloting the Cessna SkyHawk that crashed just after takeoff Sunday morning at the Danbury Airport has died of his injuries, according to the News-Times. Authorities have not identified the three men who were aboard the rented plane, but the family of Mark Stern of Redding, Conn., confirmed that he was piloting the plane and that he has died, the News-Times said. Former Danbury Cop Charged With Reckless Driving In Deadly Off-Duty Chase DANBURY — A former Danbury police officer was arrested Friday evening on a charge of reckless driving in connection with a police pursuit and fatal crash in the city in December while he was off duty, state police said.
