Teen Arrested After Hiding During Bust Of Underage Drinking In New Canaan NEW CANAAN, Conn. — A teenager was arrested after hiding from New Canaan police officers in a closet as they busted an underage drinking party in town last week, police said. Officers went to a home at 538 Laurel Road to break up a suspected underage drinking party on the night of Thursday, Aug. 3, police said. A resident of the home, Patrick Griffin Edmonds, 19, was issued a misdemeanor for permitting a minor to possess alcohol and possession of alcohol by a minor, police said. Services Set For Redding's Mark Stern, Who Died In Danbury Plane Crash FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — Services have been set for Mark Stern, who died Thursday in Danbury Hospital from the injuries he sustained in a private plane crash on July 30. He was 63. A celebration of his life and a memorial service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Norwalk Inn at 99 East Ave., Norwalk. Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton To Undergo Surgery To Remove Benign Brain Tumor DANBURY, Conn. — Longtime Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton is facing surgery Tuesday to remove a benign brain tumor from behind his left ear, the News-Times reported. Boughton, a Republican candidate for governor in 2018, told the News-Times he expects to make a full recovery after the surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
