Norwalk Man, 25, Sent Death Threats Via Text, New Canaan Police Say NEW CANAAN, Conn. — A 25-year-old Norwalk man who sent text messages threatening "harm and death" to a victim was arrested Friday evening, New Canaan police said. The victim went to New Canaan police headquarters at 5:45 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11, and showed officers threatening text messages from Kyle Cichowicz, police said. Student Was Flying Plane In Fatal Crash Near Putnam Border, Police Say A juvenile student pilot was at the controls when a plane that took off from Danbury Airport crashed Friday morning, killing the 57-year-old flight instructor and injuring herself and a passenger, according to New Milford police. Construction Worker Hurt In Fall From Ladder At Fairfield Home FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A construction worker fell about 20 feet from a ladder at a Fairfield home while working on a renovation project, Fairfield firefighters said. At 2 p.m. Wednesday, the fire department responded to the accident on Osborne Lane. Workers found the man on the ground with serious injuries, firefighters said. He was treated at the scene and transported to the hospital. That was just one of the many calls for the Fairfield Fire Department in 24 hours. Fairfield Firefighters Come To Aid Of Injured Hiker At Lake Mohegan FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Fairfield firefighters, using their off-road specialty vehicle dubbed Gator 1, came to the rescue of an injured hiker Friday afternoon at Lake Mohegan, according to a Facebook post. The hiker's accident occurred near the dog beach on the east side of Lake Mohegan. Firefighter Jeff DeNitto operated the Gator 1 at the incident at Lake Mohegan. He was assisted by Firefighter Will Malkin. Fairfield Police and AMR also assisted in the rescue effort.

Police Identify 21-Year-Old Man Shot To Death In Derby DERBY, Conn. — A 21-year-old man found shot on a Derby street overnight died of his wounds Friday morning, police said. Stratford Officers Come To Aid Of Suicidal Woman On Train Tracks STRATFORD, Conn. — Stratford officers responded to a dangerous situation Friday morning with a suicidal woman on the train tracks at Linden Street, police said.
