Briarcliff's Inspired Chef Serves Up Root Vegetables Briarcliff's Inspired Chef Serves Up Root Vegetables
Briarcliff's Inspired Chef Serves Up Root Vegetables WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- I spent last Saturday morning combing the stalls at the Pleasantville farmers market for root vegetables (FYI, these are starchy tubers and taproots of plants). Back at home I spilled my bounty on the kitchen table, arranging the root veggies for a photo like some type of demented food stylist. Then I got to work peeling and chopping everything into one-inch diced pieces. I started with the celeriac, a knobby beige and li…

Stamford Dealer Finds Hyundai's Human Side In Trip To South Korea STAMFORD, Conn. – Stamford Hyundai owner Andy Shapiro knows automation plays a key role in automobile production. His recent one-week trip to Seoul in South Korea to visit Hyundai’s assembly facilities reinforced the company’s commitment to human values as well. Shapiro was one of 30 members from Hyundai dealers in the United States invited to the car manufacturer’s headquarters. The purpose of the trip was to showcase how the company builds cars and get a glimpse at future plans. Shapiro, who last traveled to South Korea in 2010, said what struck him was the role humans play in ascertain…

Pound Ridge Letter: In Support Of Peter Avellino For Town Board POUND RIDGE, N.Y. -- The Pound Ridge Daily Voice accepts signed letters to the editor. Send letters to poundridge@dailyvoice.com. On Nov. 5, voters in Pound Ridge will elect two members to its Town Board.  For the past few weeks, I have read a myriad of letters endorsing all of the candidates, all saying similar things. I have no doubt that every candidate is intelligent, successful, hardworking, and that each endorser believes that their candidate of choice “has what it takes.” I could write all the same things about Peter Avellino and they would all be true, but then this letter would bl…

Smith hesitated at first when Boos, the long-time senior operations manager, and employees suggested murals. She was pleasantly surprised with the results. “We nee…
