Briarcliff's Inspired Chef Serves Up Root Vegetables WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- I spent last Saturday morning combing the stalls at the Pleasantville farmers market for root vegetables (FYI, these are starchy tubers and taproots of plants). Norwalk Packers 4th Graders Finish Regular Season Unbeaten NORWALK, Conn. -- The Norwalk Packers 4th grade team finished the regular season 8-0 with a 19-0 win over Bridgeport. Sajan Porter, Camryn Edwards and Mysonne Pollard scored for Norwalk.. The Packers have outscored opponents 246-25 this season. Stamford Dealer Finds Hyundai's Human Side In Trip To South Korea STAMFORD, Conn. – Stamford Hyundai owner Andy Shapiro knows automation plays a key role in automobile production. His recent one-week trip to Seoul in South Korea to visit Hyundai’s assembly facilities reinforced the company’s commitment to human values as well. Norwalk Marching Bears Head To Syracuse On Winning Streak NORWALK, Conn. -- The Norwalk High School Marching Bears won big Saturday night in Shelton -- a victory that sets them up for a trip to the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, N.Y. Competing in the Musical Arts Conference’s National Class against Newtown and Trumbull, the Bears stayed unbeaten, barely. They posted a score of 92.45 while Trumbull posted 92.35. Canine Kindergarten Employees Paint Pretty Projects For Pets VERPLANCK, N.Y. – Many businesses spend extravagantly on team-building retreats for its employees. Canine Kindergarten co-owner Lisa Smith and her team in Verplanck found a far less costly alternative and helped give its award-winning Verplanck location a new look in the process. Connecticut Boat Club Has 2 Top 20 Finishes On Charles River NORWALK, Conn. – Connecticut Boat Club had two top 20 finishes at the Head of the Charles over the weekend, the signature regatta of the fall rowing season. The Norwalk-based tream finished ninth in the Varsity 8 race out of 85 crews. The Varsity 4+ finished 16th out of 85, and the B Varsity 8 finished 39th after starting 83rd. Wilton Field Hockey Will Salute Seniors Monday WILTON, Conn. – Wilton High School’s field hockey team will honor its eight seniors Monday night at its home game against New Canaan. Wilton, 13-1, will salute seniors Lizette Roman-Johnston, Kylie Cafiero, Emily Arrix, Maggie Mendola, Annie Cornbrooks, Jill Detrick-Yee, Kailey Zengo and Madison Hendry.
