The young runners are coached by Bill Martin, the cross country and track and field coach at New Canaan High School. The team is sponsored by New Balance New Canaan. Ridgefield Sweeps Boys, Girls Cross Country Championships RIDGEFIELD, Conn. – The Ridgefield High School boys and girls cross country teams won team titles Thursday at the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference championships at Waveny Park in New Canaan. The boys won with 27 points and easily defeated Darien, the top-ranked team in the state, which finished with 59. Trevor Hopper won the boys race. Ridgefield’s girls narrowly edged Staples, 52-57.
