Eleanor Walsh Wertimer, 91, Pelham Resident, Attorney, Activist PELHAM, N.Y. – Eleanor Walsh Wertimer, a resident of Pelham and a longtime resident of Clinton, N.Y., died on Saturday, Jan. 18. She was 91. Wertimer was born on Jan. 25, 1922 in Buffalo, N.Y.  to John and Geraldine Walsh. She graduated from the Buffalo Seminary in 1939 and Smith College in 1944. She received her law degree from the University of Buffalo in 1946 and was one of the few women admitted to the New York State Bar in 1947. She worked as an associate at a Buffalo law firm. He researched and located a program called CodeRED, a high-speed notification system that is now part of the town's emergency protocol. One of the first issues introduced to the Town Board by Supervisor Richard Lyman resulted with the unanimous vote to contract a CodeRED license for Pound Ridge.
