Accident In South Salem Slows Friday Night Traffic SOUTH SALEM, N.Y. – An accident at the intersection of Route 123 North and Route 35 in South Salem slowed traffic beginning around 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24. The road is frequently used by commuters in Ridgefield, Redding and other communities in Connecticut as they travel home from lower Westchester. There was no estimate on the length of the delay or when it would be cleared.

AND FAIRFIELD COUNTY, N.Y. – An accident on the Hutchinson River Parkway on the New York and Connecticut border snarled traffic beginning around 7:30 a.m. on Friday morning before being cleared toward the end of the morning commute. The accident occurred on the northbound Hutchinson River Parkway between Ridge Street and King Street in Port Chester.

Service was re-stored late Thursday night, more than three hours after a computer problem shut down all Metro-North. Trains were running close to schedule on Friday morning except on the Danbury line, where commuters had to take a bus to the South Norwalk branch. There were no major traffic tie-ups report on Friday morning for drivers.

A snapped catenary wire caused a train to become disabled Wednesday night between the Greens Farms and Westport stations.
