Harvey Hockey Team Ties Rye Country Day KATONAH, N.Y. – The Harvey School and Rye Country Day School played to a 4-4 tie on Wednesday night, Jan. 15, in a boys hockey game. Robert Van Raamsdonk scored two goals for Harvey, while Theo Rattner and Keith Lambert had one each. Harvey's Mark Siegel made 46 saves. The Cavaliers play Saturday in the Scarsdale Tournament along with Scarsdale, Clarkstown and Monroe-Woodbury high schools.

DeAngelo Stepping Down At Boys & Girls Club Of Greenwich GREENWICH, Conn. – Bob DeAngelo will step down in May as executive director of the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich, he announced Thursday. DeAngelo, who has been the executive director for nearly 16 years, will continue to work at the club through May 31 to assist in the transition of leadership. A formal search for a new executive director is underway, led by a search committee of the board. Easton Woman Wins College Basketball Honor At Hartwick EASTON, Conn. – Easton's Brittney Dumas, a sophomore at Hartwick College in New York, was named the Empire 8 Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. She is a graduate of Joel Barlow High School. Dumas won the award for the first time this season and second time of her career. She averaged 18.3 points and 9.7 rebounds per game last week as Hartwick went 2-1. Darien's Ostberg Named Cross Country Runner Of The Year DARIEN, Conn. -- Darien High School runner Alex Ostberg was named Thursday as the Gatorade Runner of the Year for Connecticut in cross country. Ostberg, a junior, raced to the Class L state championship this past season in a time of 15:34, leading the Blue Wave to the state title as a team. He finished third at the Foot Locker Northeast Regional championships and took 11th nationally at the Foot Locker national championships in 15:31. Norwalk Cal Ripken Plans Registration, Pizza Party NORWALK, Conn. -- The Norwalk Cal Ripken Baseball League will be accepting registrations at Cranbury Chapel and Fox Run School from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays, Feb. 1 and Feb. 15. There will also be a pizza party on Jan. 21 to learn more about the league. In order to participate, players must be between 4 and 12 years old as of April 30, 2014. Stamford's Chelsea Piers Connecticut Names New Baseball Director STAMFORD, Conn. – Chelsea Piers Connecticut in Stamford announced Thursday that Mike Anderson will be joining its team as director of baseball. Anderson is a 2006 graduate of Walter Panas High School in Cortlandt Manor. He is also a co-founder of both East Coast Baseball Training Facility at Navajo Field in Yorktown Heights and East Coast MAVS Baseball. Starr was born Feb. 25, 1921, to Lawrence Watson and Grace (Tharp) Watson. She was married to Grady Starr for 70 years.
