The Danbury mayor named former Groton Mayor Heather Somers as his choice to run for lieutenant governor with him. Somers is serving her fifth term on the Town Council in Groton. Harvey Hockey Team Splits Against Forman, Rye Country Day KATONAH, N.Y. -- The Harvey School's hockey team split its most recent games, beating Forman, 13-3, and falling to Rye Country Day, 9-4. Keith Lambert had a hat trick for Harvey, while Charlie Seider, Corey Eisenband and Curtis Rattner had two each. Tyler Levy, Rob Van Raamsdonk, Dash Quartarolo and Tommy Gattuso added single goals. Van Raamsdonk also had five assists. Harvey broke the game open with eight unanswered goals in the third period. Harvey jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the first period before Rye County Day answered to win the Fairchester Athletic Association game.

Police Identify 3 People Killed In Danbury Collision DANBURY, Conn. -- An elderly couple from Bethel who had served as elected town officials and a man from Brookfield were identified as the three people killed in a three-vehicle crash late Tuesday morning on Route 53 in Danbury, police said.  The fatal crash occurred at about 11:45 a.m. on Route 53, also known as South Street, near the Bethel border, Danbury police said.  According to the police report, Edward Kish, 45, of Brookfield, was driving a 2001 Honda Accord north on South Street and was slumped over the wheel, according to witness statements.
