Waccabac Country Club Gets Town Board's OK For Live Music LEWISBORO, N.Y. -- Waccabuc Country Club recently received approval from the Lewisboro Town Board for its request to be able to hold live musical entertainment. The board approved what is called a cabaret license, which is the legal authorization.  The approval was made unanimously and was done at the Town Board's meeting on July 27. Waccabuc Country Club, which offers swimming, golf and tennis for its members, can trace its roots back to 1912 and was once the site of an inn, according to the club's website.

Moody's Downgrades Bedford Central's Bond Rating Over Reserves BEDFORD, N.Y. -- Moody's Investors Service recently announced that it downgraded the Bedford Central School District's bond rating on long-term debt, citing its use for reserves for budget balancing. Moody's announced that the district's rating has been lowered from Aa1 to Aa2. The downgrade covers $46 million in outstanding bonds, Moody's said. The rating also has a negative outlook for the district's debt. The fire occurred by Burr Farms Road. Riverwoods is located in northern New Castle and is in the Mount Kisco Fire District. It is also near downtown Mount Kisco. Katonah-Lewisboro School Board OK's Deeper Tax-Levy Cut Than Predicted LEWISBORO, N.Y. -- Katonah-Lewisboro's school board voted Thursday to officially adopt the district's tax levy, which is the total amount of property tax revenue devoted to the 2015-16 budget. However, the final amount represents a cut that is even more than what was approved by voters in May. The adopted levy is $95,904,695, which represents a $3,055,415, or 3.09-percent cut, from the 2014-15 amount. Chappaqua Railroad Crossing Closes Again Due To Maintenance CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- More renovation work is planned for the Roaring Brook Road railroad crossing in Chappaqua, the state Department of Transportation (DOT) announced. The crossing is scheduled to be closed from 7 p.m. on Friday, July 31 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 2, according to the DOT. The latest renovation will include a replacement of a concrete approach on the eastern side of the crossing.
