The fire smell was pungent near the premises, which is at 35 Whippoorwill Road East. A stretch of the road was closed to traffic as part of the firefighters' response. Armonk's fire department was dispatched at 7:46 p.m., according to Cano, who added that nobody was home at the time and there were no injuries. The woman is 86-year-old Chrystine Nicholas and her husband, 93-year-old George Nicholas, each lived in the house, the reports state.
