46-Year-Old NYC Lawyer Charged With Robbing Greenwich Bank GREENWICH, Conn. -- A 46-year-old New York woman was in police custody Friday on charges of robbing a Greenwich bank on Thursday afternoon, police said. Meighan Marie McSherry, a lawyer from New York City, appeared in Stamford court Friday on charges of first-degree robbery and second-degree larceny, police said. Grab Bus Or Call Uber: Metro-North Working On Tracks On New Canaan Branch NEW CANAAN, Conn. – Call for Uber, or be prepared to take the bus. Train service will be suspended and buses will be running instead starting Friday afternoon and all weekend on the New Canaan Branch, Metro-North announced. The service change is scheduled for Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Aug. 21 to allow for construction work on the grade crossings, the Department of Transportation said. Police: Voodoo Priestess In Stolen Car Threatens To Curse Stamford Cops STAMFORD, Conn. — A Greenwich woman warned police that she is a voodoo priestess and would put a curse on them if they touched her property during a traffic stop early Friday, police said. Roads To Close For Paving For Metro-North Track Work In Stamford, Darien STAMFORD, Conn. -- Several road will be closed in the next month as Metro-North does rail work on the New Canaan Branch, the City of Stamford announced. New rail panels will be installed, and the surrounding roads will require paving. Detour routes will be posted two weeks before the project starts. Old Greenwich Woman Charged With Stealing Clothing From Store GREENWICH, Conn. -- A Greenwich woman is facing a larceny charge after she was spotted by employees at LF Stores stealing a piece of clothing on July 1, police said. Ashleigh Kate Singer, 31, of 51 Forest Ave., Apt. 100 in Old Greenwich turned herself in to police on July 20 and was charged with sixth-degree larceny, police said. She posted $10,000 bond and was given a court date of Aug. 9. Her bond apparently was set high because Singer has had run-ins with the law in the past. Police: Angry Husband Attacks Greenwich Man With Baseball Bat GREENWICH, Conn. — A furious husband hit a man with a baseball bat and smashed out all the windows of the man's car in retaliation for alleged sexual advances made against his wife, Greenwich Police said. Gilmar Obdulio Cana-Montufar, 35, of 21 Perry St., Apt. 1, Stamford, confronted the other man in a Perkins Street parking lot at about 7 a.m. Wednesday, police said.
