Stamford Police Recruit Slightly Injured During Unsuccessful Foot Chase STAMFORD, Conn., -- A Stamford Police recruit suffered a strained muscle in a failed attempt to run down a suspect in a disorderly conduct case late Thursday, police said. Police said they were called to the area of 112 Bedford St. just before midnight to deal with a a complaint from a woman who said she couldn't find a bracelet. A man ran when he saw the officers, and the recruit ran after but fell, said Sgt. Simon Blanc. The police recruit was treated and released from Stamford Hospital. There was no further information on the suspect who fled.
