Three Families Displaced By Fire In Norwalk Home NORWALK, Conn. -- A fire raced through a Platt Street home Tuesday afternoon before it was brought under control, fire officials said. The fire heavily damaged the multifamily home in East Norwalk and displaced three families, officials said. The fire broke out around 4 p.m., and the Norwalk Fire Department quickly worked to contain the fire, which was on the third floor of the home. Abdul Aziz, 72, of Stephen Street, Stamford, was struck at 9:39 a.m. May 9 by a Toyota Sienna minivan as he was attempting to cross Tresser Boulevard, police said. He died the following day.
