Lord & Taylor Employee Embezzled $30,000 In Four Months, Stamford Cops Say STAMFORD, Conn. -- A Lord & Taylor employee allegedly embezzled $30,000 from the Stamford store by submitting false returns on her and a relative's credit card, Stamford Police said. Sissy Mateo-Alvarado, 25, of 6 Hoover Ave., Stamford made 67 fraudulent returns on the two credit cards between Jan. 14 and May 14, police said. She is charged with one count of first-degree larceny.
