Obama Sweeps Into Stamford To Raise Cash For Democratic Party STAMFORD, Conn. -- President Barack Obama's visit to Stamford for a private fundraiser Wednesday afternoon is expected to have a big payoff for the Democratic National Committee. Obama is meeting with donors at the North Stamford home of philanthropist Michael and Terran Whittingham, where guests are spending $33,400 each to attend. The donors are meeting with the president in a nonpublic event that also excludes all of the press. Greenwich Announces Middle School Principal Is Moving To Westport Job Update: GREENWICH, Conn. -- A Greenwich middle school principal is moving up to high school -- and moving to Westport, according to a statement from the Greenwich School District. Pair Nabbed In Heroin Bust In Wendy's Parking Lot In Greenwich GREENWICH, Conn. -- A Watertown man was busted on serious drug charges for the second time in two weeks, Greenwich police said. Pedro N. Torres Jr., 27, of 45 Borowy Road, and his girlfriend, Jenni Marie Cosmos, 25, of 91 Clark St., Wolcott, were arrested in the Wendy's Restaurant parking lot Thursday night. Greenwich officers were investigating reports of heroin dealing in town when they made the bust, police said. Torres and Cosmos were were each charged with sale and possession of narcotics. Couple Face Charges Of Making Fake Credit Cards In Stamford STAMFORD, Conn. -- A Stamford Police investigation ended with the arrest of a New York couple on charges of making fake credit cards, police said. Ferne and Phillip Deans, both 36, of 100 Dekruif Place, the Bronx, were arrested on May 13 at their residence. They were arrested by New York City Police Department officers on a Stamford Police Department warrant. The Co-Op City Police Department also assisted. New Canaan Police Officer Comes To Rescue Of Choking Victim NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- A New Canaan police officer used the Heimlich maneuver to save the life of a choking person Tuesday afternoon. Officer Shane Gibson rushed to the Sushi 25 restaurant at 25 Elm St. to help. He was working an off-duty job also on Elm Street when he heard the emergency call at 1:35 p.m. After evaluating the victim, Gibson quickly performed the Heimlich maneuver and was able to dislodge the food, said Chief Leon Krolikowski in a news release. Greenwich Nursing Home's Campaign Gets $4.49 Million Boost From Eversource GREENWICH, Conn. -- A Greenwich nursing home's history has helped it come up with millions of dollars for its future. Cops: Stamford Teens Placed In Cuffs After Trying To Row Boat Away STAMFORD, Conn. -- Two Stamford teenagers rowed all the way in to police custody as they tried to steal a Boston Whaler boat from the Cove Island dock late Sunday by using their hands as oars, police said. Police: Man, Woman Both Wounded In Stamford Gunfight STAMFORD, Conn. -- A 24-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man exchanged about a dozen shots in a wild gunfight Saturday night that left both of them wounded and the vehicle the man was a passenger in riddled with .44-magnum bullets from her handgun, Stamford police said. Stamford Police Seek Help In Finding Suspect In Attempted Sexual Assault STAMFORD, Conn. -- Stamford Police have released a surveillance video of a person of interest in an attempted sexual assault that occurred on Tuesday, May 12.
