Wilton Police Use Pawn Shop Information To Charge Man In Jewelry Theft WILTON, Conn., -- A Stratford man is facing charges of stealing six pieces of jewelry worth about $7,500 from a Wilton home while he was part of a four-man crew working on the duct work, police said. David Gomez, 34, of 200 Boston Ave., turned himself in to police Sunday after learning of an arrest warrant for him, police said. Wilton police Lt. Stephen Brennan said the theft occurred in mid-March. The homeowner discovered the items missing March 19 and reported it to police a few days later, he said. Students At Stamford's Scofield Cap Off The School Year With Final Projects STAMFORD, Conn., -- Grace Hansen, an eighth-grader at Scofield Magnet Middle School in Stamford, said she relished tackling her challenging school project. Stamford Resident Arrested After Police Receive Report Of Men With Rifle STAMFORD, Conn. -- A Stamford man who fled from police officers into an apartment building with what appeared to be a sniper's rifle, but later turned out to be a BB gun, was arrested Friday afternoon after a standoff with officers, police said. Housatonic CC Adviser Adds Associate's To Complete Her Lineup Of Degrees BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Mary Clark has run out of college degrees to earn. Clark, who is the director of academic advising at Housatonic Community College in Bridgeport, graduated Thursday with an associate's degree in general studies from the school where she works. Fake Wheelchair-User Charged In Stamford Jewelry Store Robbery STAMFORD, Conn. -- The man police named as the suspect in a brazen jewelry store robbery in Stamford last summer in which a man bolted up from a wheelchair and stole a $37,500 Rolex watch was arrested Thursday, police said. Larry Johnson, 35, was arrested at the Kingston, N.Y., Correctional Facility, where he was held on unrelated charges. Stamford Man Charged With Committing Indecent Act At Beach, Police Say STAMFORD, Conn. -- An appalled beachgoer snapped a photograph of a man in the act of pleasuring himself at Cummings Beach on Tuesday, said Stamford Police, who arrested a man Thursday in connection with the incident.
