Man, 62, Charged With Causing Disturbance At Westport Restaurant WESTPORT, Conn. — A 62-year-old local man was arrested on charges of causing a disturbance at a Westport restaurant and refusing to leave, police said. On Tuesday, arriving officers found Gerard Gaspel of Westport as he was leaving the restaurant, police said. Gaspel was identified as the man who had been causing a disturbance inside, police said. Monroe First Responders Handle Thanksgiving Crash On Turkey Roost Road MONROE, Conn. — It was a bit of coincidence as Monroe first-responders headed early Thursday to Turkey Roost Road for a one-car crash. The Monroe Volunteer Fire Department responded at 1 a.m. along with EMS and police officers, according to a Facebook post from the fire department. One car had crashed into a pole on Turkey Roost Road. There were no injuries, but "there was significant arcing of the power lines" and a fluid spill to clean up after Eversource crews cut the power at the scene, the post said. Units were on scene for over an hour.

Brookfield Firefighters Respond To Smoke-Filled Home BROOKFIELD, Conn. — It was a happy ending as the Brookfield Volunteer Fire Department responded to smoky conditions at a home on Oak Grove Road on Thursday morning but found no fire. At 8 a.m., firefighters from both companies responded and found the house was filled with smoke, according to a Facebook post. The residents had safely already evacuated the home, the post said.
