Brookfield Firefighters Tackle Burning Brush, Help At Smoke-Filled Home BROOKFIELD, Conn. — Both Brookfield Volunteer Fire Department companies were kept busy by responding to five separate incidents from Saturday night into Sunday morning, according to a Facebook post.  One incident was a large brush fire that broke out between houses on South Lake Shore Drive in the Candlewood Shores neighborhood, the post said. Also, a large house on Christian Lane filled up with smoke.  Other incidents included two carbon monoxide emergencies and a call to assist EMS, the Facebook post said.

Danbury Firefighters Use Jaws Of Life To Free Victim From Car Crash DANBURY, Conn. — Danbury firefighter were called to a a two-car crash on Lee Mac Avenue on Saturday afternoon, according to a Facebook post.  The crash occurred at about 2:35 p.m. near the Department of Motor Vehicles.  One victim had to be rescued from one of the cars by firefighters using the Hurst "Jaws of Life" equipment.  Danbury EMS and police also helped at the scene, the Facebook Post said.
