Darien White 8th-Grade Football Team Earns Top Seed For Playoffs DARIEN, Conn. – The Darien White eighth-grade football team ended the regular season Sunday with a 20-6 win over Ridgefield Orange in the Fairfield County Football League. Darien, 7-1, earned the top seed for the league playoffs, which begin this weekend. Darien will have a first-round bye. It will meet the winner between Wilton Blue and New Canaan Black in the quarterfinals on Nov. 9 or Nov. 10. Darien allowed six or fewer points in seven of its eight games. It lost to Westport North, 22-18, on Oct. 20. Westport North (6-2) is the No. 2 seed for the tournament.
