Westport's Greens Farms Academy Runs Win Streak To 23 WESTPORT, Conn. – The Greens Farms Academy boys basketball team improved to 5-0 and ran its winning streak to 23 games by winning the Farroba Classic in Providence, R.I., over the weekend. The Dragons defeated Wheeler, 68-50, in the championship game as Zach Baines scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Matt Tate added 15 points and five assists. In its opening game, GFA routed Hebron, 92-45, as Baines scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Sunday Okeke added 18 points while Tate tossed in 15. Jim Djema added 12. Norwalk High's Candlelight Concert Brings Sweet Sound To The Holidays NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk High School held its winter concert, Candlelight, this week. There were three performances with more than 600 students in the school's orchestra, chorus and band performing holiday songs. Candlelight is the oldest high school winter concert in New England. It began in the 1930s and has been performed every year except for two years during World War II, when regulations prevented it.

Westhill High Girl Wins Race At New York Meet STAMFORD, Conn. – Westhill High School’s Claire Howlett won one event and finished second in another Saturday at the 60th Bishop Loughlin Games in New York. Howlett won the 2-mile in 10:48.16, outdistancing the pack by a comfortable 14 seconds. In the mile, Howlett finished second in 5:04.33. Denise Branch won the race in 5:03.17. Howlett, who announced in the fall that she will attend Stanford University, has the top time in the 2-mile in the country so far in the young indoor track season.
