South Salem Teen Morales Ranked No. 1 In Nation By Two Golf Organizations SOUTH SALEM, N.Y. – South Salem golfer Nicole Morales is the top-ranked junior player in two of the nation’s most prestigious associations. Golf Week and the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) ranked Morales the No. 1 junior player in the country. Morales has committed to play college golf at the University of Alabama. Westchester CC Plans Grand Opening Of Extension Center In Mount Vernon WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - , Westchester Community College will hold a grand opening at its new 22,000-square-foot Extension Center at 17 S. Fifth Avenue in Mount Vernon on Wednesday, Jan. 22, at 11:30 a.m. The celebration with community and business leaders will include brief remarks and tours of the new site. In 2003, the college opened its first Extension Center in Mount Vernon, which it outgrew. That facility has been closed. New York Times' Criticism Of Darien Woman's Cancer Fight Sparks Debate DARIEN, Conn. – After a Darien woman who has taken to social media to detail her battle with breast cancer was criticized in an op-ed Monday in The New York Times, readers have lit up the Internet to weigh in on the debate between Lisa Bonchek Adams and writer Bill Keller. Westchester Real Estate Shows Strong Quarterly, Yearly Growth WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. – Tuesday’s report from the Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors painted a positive picture for the year and the fourth quarter in Westchester real estate. Sales of single family houses jumped 21.7 percent for the year in Westchester, with a 3.9 percent jump in the median sale price. 74-Year-Old Norwalk Quarterback Wins Trip To Super Bowl NORWALK, Conn. – Norwalk’s Lee Krost was named one of the winners in a contest to win a free trip to the Super Bowl. Westchester CC Names New Interim President, Trustee Members WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. – Westchester Community College named a new interim president and named four new members to the Board of Trustees. Dr. John F. M. Flynn has been selected as Westchester Community College’s interim president. He began serving in this role in January and will continue until a permanent successor is hired to replace Dr. Joseph Hankin, who recently retired.
