Wilton Wahoos Swimmers Glide To Top Results At Meets WILTON, Conn. -- The Wilton Wahoos swim team for ages 13-and-up competed in several meets with outstanding results in recent meets. At the Orlando Grand Prix in February, nine members of the national squad participated in a meet with more than 500 swimmers. Stephen Holmquist swam in seven events in the three-day meet, with his best a ninth place finish in the 400-meter individual medley. Alisa Lippmann, 100, Former Resident Of Chappaqua CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- Alisa Lippmann, a former resident of Chappaqua, died on Feb. 18 in Napa, Calif. She was 100. She was born in Rome, May 9, 1913 to Giulo and Emma Moscato.  She married in Genoa in 1936 and escaped to New York City from Paris on the eve of World War II with only her baby daughter and her mother.  Shortly thereafter, she started her own business making hats and dresses in New York until her husband, Heinz, was able to safely emigrate from Europe. Students In Greenwich School Pinch Pennies For Leukemia & Lymphoma Society GREENWICH, Conn. – Students at Parkway School in donated more than $3,000  to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) after a Pennies For Patients collection last month. The children donated $3,728.92 by collecting change and money under couch cushions, jacket pockets and cars. They collected the money from Jan. 27-Feb. 7. Parkway is for students in preschool through Fifth-Grade. Students in the fourth-grade class of Kristin Marchetti collected the most cash and were to be rewarded with a pizza party. Staples Runner Wins New Englands, Soars To Top Of U.S. Charts WESTPORT, Conn. – Staples High School sophomore Hannah DeBalsi isn’t content just by winning races any more. She’s smashing records in the process, too. DeBalsi won the 2-mile run Saturday at the New England Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center in Boston. She won in 10:12.95, smashing the previous record of 10:30.55 set in 2010 by Glastonbury’s Lindsay Crevoiserat. DeBalsi’s time is the best at the distance in the United States this winter.
