After Rough Winter, Work Returns To Norwalk River Valley Trail NORWALK, Conn. -- Mother Nature ultimately triumphed in late January. After groundbreaking in November, the crew building the Norwalk Valley River Trail (NRVT) demonstration section fought to keep the project on track as our cold, unpredictable winter unfolded. But they had to give up trying to surface the trail as it froze and thawed and froze again. They’d focus on the 160-foot boardwalk across the wetlands instead. Westport Girls Win State All-Around Gymnastics Title For Stamford Club STAMFORD, Conn. – Arena Gymnastics of Stamford crowned three all-around state champions and seven state champions in individual events at the U.S. Gymnastics Connecticut State Championships last weekend at Hamden Hall. Erika Marr of Ridgefield won the Level 9 all-around title in the 14-15-year-old age group. Wilton Y Wahoos Send 26 Swimmers To National Meet WILTON, Conn. -- The Wilton Y Wahoos sent 26 swimmers on Sunday to Greensboro, N.C., to race in the YMCA National Short Course Championships. The meet runs from April 1-4. Fairfield Swimmers Help Wilton Team Win State, Regional Meets FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Fairfield swimmers helped the Wilton Y Wahoos swim team win the Connecticut YMCA State Championship and Connecticut Regional Championship in recent meets. At the YMCA State championships, the Wahoos won the title for the 27th year in a row. The Wahoos also won the regional championship, and the 13-14-year-old boys won their division. Lang Photo Exhibit Planned Thursday At Darien's GoodFit DARIEN, Conn. -- Darien's Kathryn Lang will have a photo exhibit Thursday, April 3, at GoodFit Studio. The exhibit runs from 6 to 8 p.m. at GoodFit Studio, 528 Post Road. Ellen Mullen, owner of GoodFit Darien, hosts the exhibit.
