Controlling Deer Population In Mamaroneck Is Targeted MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Mamaroneck village Mayor Norman Rosenblum says it's "paramount" that state and county agencies should work to reduce deer population in Mamaroneck and Rye, according to a story on LoHud.com. Rosenblum said the deer population is a danger to motorists in the region. He wants the state to use hunting, birth control or relocation to reduce the danger. Developer Withdraws Plans For Hotel In Ridgefield RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- A developer has scrapped plans to build a 48-suite hotel in Ridgefield, according to a report on blog.ctnews.com Steven Zemo withdrew his application last week, citing a conflict with the town's land use commission, the story said. The extended stay hotel was planed for a 5-acre site on Old Quarry Road.  In a letter to Betty Brosius, Ridgefield's Director of Planning, Zemo expressed frustration at the lack of enthusiasm for the project from the Planning and Zoning Commission, the report said.
