Six-Time Sectional Champ Ossining Girls Advance To State Final Four MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. - Despite playing a "slow" first half, and with its senior scoring star feeling ill, the three-time defending state champion Ossining High girls basketball team still managed to overcome Monroe-Woodbury Friday night, toppling the Crusaders, 59-44, in a regional final at Orange County Community College. Senior Shadeen Samuels, dealing with a stomach bug, scored 23 for the Pride, but 19 of those came in the first half. Ossining, now 24-2 and winner of the last six sectional titles, is set to play in a state semifinal Friday at Hudson Valley Community College.

Fox Lane Basketball Team's Postseason Run Ends In State Quarterfinals MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. - Still riding the momentum of their stunning sectional championship win over Mount Vernon, the Fox Lane High boys basketball team took on a tough Middletown team Friday in a Class AA regional final at Orange County Community College. On the line was a ticket to the state semifinals. in the end it was Middletown (19-4) that outplayed the Foxes - building a 16-point lead at the end of three quarters en route to a 62-44 victory, and a birth in the New York State final four. Alex Olsen's 20-point effort led the Foxes, who closed a stellar season at 22-4.

Dutchess Residents Enjoy Chilly St. Patrick's Day Parade WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. - Dutchess County held its annual St. Patrick's Day Parade Saturday afternoon on Main Street in Wappingers Falls. Despite chilly temperatures, the streets were lined with enthusiastic people in their St. Patrick's Day green, anxious to check out the spectacle.
