North Castle Library Has Closures, Shorter Hours For Holidays ARMONK, N.Y. -- The North Castle Public Library will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day. The library will have shorter hours for Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. It will close at 1:30 p.m. on both days. The library's two locations are in Armonk and in North White Plains.

Lewisboro Library Has Christmas Closures LEWISBORO, N.Y. -- The Lewisboro Library will be closed for both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Additionally, the library will have abbreviated hours on New Year's Eve. Instead of closing at 6 p.m., which is the normal closure on Wednesdays, the library will close at 1 p.m. The library is temporarily housed in the nearby Presbyterian church in South Salem due to construction at its building.

Two-Lane Traffic Back On Croton Falls Road Bridge CROTON FALLS, N.Y. -- The eastbound lane of the Croton Falls Road bridge was reopened to traffic this week. The lane was closed as part of Westchester County's renovation of the bridge. During that time, traffic was detoured to the eastbound stretch of Route 202 and continuing south, with a right-hand turn onto Route 22. The county has spent this year overhauling the bridge. Town Board OK's Chappaqua Crossing Retail Zone CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- The New Castle Town Board voted Thursday night to approve retail zoning for Chappaqua Crossing. The zone allows for up to 120,000 square feet of retail space and for Summit/Greenfield, the site's owner, to keep up to 500,000 of other commercial space. It is applicable as an overlay to the site's existing commercial zone. Summit/Greenfield has proposed having a 40,000-square-foot Whole Foods Grocery store on the site.
