Wappinger Highway Department A 'Hostile' Workplace, Report Says WAPPINGER, N. Stamford Bounty Hunter Charged With Restraining Bail Jumper's Girlfriend STAMFORD, CONN. -- A 52-year-old Stamford bounty hunter is facing unlawful restraint charges stemming from a May scuffle in Stamford with the girlfriend of a man being arrested for jumping bail, according to the Stamford Advocate. Bill Kemp is out on $25,000 bond on charges of first-degree unlawful restraint, reckless endangerment and risk of injury to a child, the Stamford Advocate reported. Rockland Man Thankful To Survive Crash Landing In Dubai A Spring Valley man is crediting the calming presence of the crew on Emirates airline flight EK521 for helping him and other passengers through a scary crash landing and fire Wednesday in Dubai, according to lohud.com.Passengers and crew survived but one firefighter was killed responding to the accident, and 10 people were hospitalized. J. -- When the doors open this year at Tenakill Middle School in Closter, one of the new faces will be a Mandarin language teacher from China.The Tenakill community is preparing to welcome exchange teacher Vivian Duan from Zibo, China, who will teach Mandarin at the school for the 2016-17 year. Darien Police Investigate Theft Of Appliances From New House DARIEN, Conn. -- Darien police are investigating the apparent theft of a brand-new set of kitchen appliances valued at at least $27,000 sometime between July 26 and July 27 at a new house in Darien, according to the Darien Times. A contractor reported the appliances missing on July 27.
