Man Arrested After Fleeing Traffic Stop: Franklin Borough Police A 41-year-old Branchville resident was arrested on Saturday, July 6, after he fled a traffic stop in Franklin Borough, authorities said. While officers were initially approaching his vehicle, Shaun Cancelliere drove away and managed to elude law enforcement, Franklin Borough police said in a release. Nearby agencies were notified to be on the lookout for Cancelliere and he was located by the Andover Township Police Department, officers said. Somerset Teen Gets Five Years For Assaulting Employee, Fracturing Face: Prosecutor A 19-year-old Somerset teen was recently sentenced to five years in prison for brutally beating an employee at a business in Franklin Township in Nov. 2022, authorities said. On Nov. 23, 2022, Thanksgiving Eve, Yahmir Brown, along with a juvenile, assaulted an employee of a local business on Hamilton Street in Franklin Township, Somerset County Prosecutor John McDonald said. The employee suffered multiple facial fractures, McDonald said. Brown was sentenced after being convicted of aggravated assault in May following a weeklong trial, authorities said.

Black Bear Struck By Vehicle On Route 46: Njsp A black bear was struck by a vehicle on Route 46 in Warren County on the early morning of Thursday, Aug. 1, authorities said. At 8:09 a.m.,, a vehicle was traveling westbound on Route 46 in White Township when it collided with a black bear that entered the lane of travel, Charles Marchan, a spokesman for the New Jersey State police said.
