Police: Bridgeport Man Charged After Dumping Family Dog In Easton EASTON, Conn. -- A Bridgeport man who told his family he had dumped the family dog somewhere in Easton or in New Milford has been charged with animal cruelty after the pooch was found injured and frightened in an abandoned house in Easton, police said. Stergios Vasiliou, 56, of 1383 Park Ave., turned himself in to Easton Police on Sept. 21. The family notified neighboring town police departments about the missing dog, and Easton Police recently found the pup. Vasiliou posted bond of $2,500 and was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.

Easton Police Charge Couple With Stealing Jewelry, Medicine From Home EASTON, Conn., -- Two Milford residents are facing charges of third-degree larceny in connection with the theft of prescription medicine and jewelry from an Easton home, police said. Niccole Chisholm, 21, and Steven Gordon, 27, both of 58 Pumpkin Delight Road, are accused of stealing the items from a family member of Chisholm's, according to Easton Police.  They turned themselves in to Easton Police on Thursday after learning of a warrant for their arrests. Each was released after posting $10,000 bond. Both were scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
