Man Stole $1,420 In Scrap Metal From Yorktown Auto Shop, Police Say A 35-year-old Peekskill resident was arrested and charged after he allegedly stole $1,420 in scrap metal from Tompkins Garage. Jeremiah Jones, 35, was charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree, a Class E felony after police investigated the larceny, which occurred in March. Jones voluntarily turned himself in on Aug. 23, where he was arrested, police said. Jones was released on $100 cash bail and is due back in court on Sept. 26 at 6 p.m.

Valhalla School District Names New Superintendent VALHALLA, N.Y. -- Dr. Karen Geelan has officially been appointed Superintendent of the Valhalla Union Free School District and will start on Nov. 1. Lewisboro Police Department Welcomes New K9 Officer, Zane LEWISBORO, N.Y. -- Zane has officially joined the Lewisboro Police Department. Thanks to more than 200 donors, Zane will begin training in the next two weeks with his handler, Andrew Llewellyn. Man Charged In Yorktown With Second DWI In Four Months YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A 54-year-old Cortlandt Manor man was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated and felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle Monday. Ex-Poughkeepsie Deputy School Chief Eyes Lawsuit Against District POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Kathleen Farrell's brief tenure as Deputy Superintendent of the Poughkeepsie City School District could prove costly. Farrell is considering suing the district for $750,000 in lost wages. She filed a notice of claim earlier this month. A five-year $150,000 a year contract was approved by the school board on June 14. Arlington School District Seeks New Trustee After Board President Resigns LAGRANGEVILLE, N.Y. -- The board president is out in Arlington. Steven Rossi, the school board president who lives in Pleasant Valley, announced his resignation this month, after undergoing quadruple bypass surgery, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.
