Tony Avella (D-Queens) has been critical of the state's Department of Environmental Conservation plans to control the mute swan population. In 2016, Gov. The Red Robin on Route 9 in the Town of Poughkeepsie was closed Sunday and Monday after an exhaust fan malfunctioned. The burger chain expects to reopen on Tuesday. The fan started malfunctioning Sunday afternoon, which caused smoke to build up in the kitchen and the restaurant to be shut down, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.
