Bear Sighting Reported By Easton Homeowner EASTON, Conn. — An Easton resident reported a black bear sighting on Oct. 11, police said.  The black bear was walking on the caller’s property toward Staples Road, police said. Multiple black bear sightings have been reported in town. On Monday, Sept. 11, a black bear was spotted in the area of Rock House Road, police said. Police: Bridgeport Man Threatened To 'Put A Bullet' In Woman's Head BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — A Bridgeport man who threatened to “put a bullet” in a woman’s head during a domestic violence incident in Milford has been arrested, police said.  Joseph Palmer, 47, of 109 Westfield Ave., Bridgeport, was arrested on an active warrant early Sunday and charged with second-degree threatening. He was released on $5,000 bond for a court appearance Monday, Oct. 16.  Palmer is accused of threatening to harm a female on July 11 by telling her he would "put a bullet in her head," Milford police said.

Firefighters Tackle Small Blaze At Olympia Sports In Westport WESTPORT, Conn. — Westport firefighters doused a blaze early Monday at Olympia Sports on Post Road East, according to Assistant Fire Chief Matthew Cohen.  The fire was reported at 6:45 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16, at 403 Post Road E., Cohen said.
