Take The Plunge: State Reopens Swim Areas At Indian Wells & Silver Sands FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — Based on results of retests, the swim areas have reopened at three state parks, according to the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.    The newly reopened swim areas are at these state parks: Silver Sands in Milford, Indian Well in Shelton, and Lake Waramaug in Litchfield County. Danbury Firefighters Rescue Dog Before He Goes Down The Drain DANBURY, Conn. — Danbury firefighters came to the aid of a dog with its foot stuck in a tub drain Tuesday in a Main Street apartment, according to a Facebook post.  A Shift Engine Co. 22, Truck 1, Squad 1 and Car 30 were dispatched to 51 Main St. for the rescue.  "Units worked delicately to remove the dog from the tub," the post said. Squad 1 then used the Dremel tool to remove the plumbing parts from the dog's foot while the owner comforts the dog.  "The dog was successfully rescued without injury," the post said.
