Funeral Services Set For Drew Carlson, 38, Danbury Police Officer DANBURY, Conn. — Funeral services have been set for Danbury Police Sgt. Drew Frederick Carlson, a New Fairfield resident who died Sunday. He was 38. Carlson was a 13-year veteran of the Danbury police force. He died after he barricaded himself in a hotel in Southbury. His death, of a gunshot wound to the head, was ruled a suicide, according to the chief medical examiner's office. In 2002, Carlson graduated from the Connecticut Police Academy. Norwalk Man Found With 'Distinct' Jewelry Charged In New Canaan Burglary NEW CANAAN, Conn. — A Norwalk man was busted Tuesday in connection with a New Canaan home burglary last month after a "distinct" piece of jewelry was found in his car, police said. Man Seriously Injured In Car Vs. Tractor-Trailer Crash On I-84 In Danbury UPDATED: DANBURY, Conn. — A 22-year-old Danbury man was hospitalized after a serious car vs. tractor-trailer crash on Interstate 84 east just past Exit 8 in Danbury, according to WLAD-AM. He rear-ended a tractor-trailer that was parked at the end of the on-ramp at about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, closing the on-ramp and one lane of the highway, WLAD said. Sherman IGA Collecting Items To Send To Harvey Victims In Texas SHERMAN, Conn.— Sherman residents are invited to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey by stopping by the Sherman IGA to donate food and personal care items. The donations will be accepted Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Sherman IGA is working with a national nonprofit charity to fill a truck with needed supplies for Houston, Texas. New Canaan Man, 41, Charged With Threatening In Dispute NEW CANAAN, Conn. — A 41-year-old man was arrested Monday after a victim told officers they "feared for their safety" during a domestic dispute, New Canaan police said.
