Briarcliff Manor Library Hosts Program On Croton Point BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. – The Briarcliff Manor-Scarborough Historical Society and the Briarcliff Manor Public Library will host speaker Scott Craven on Tuesday, March 18, at 7 p.m at the library.. 3 Darien Basketball Teams Win Youth League Championships DARIEN, Conn. –Three Darien teams won championships in their divisions of the Fairfield County Basketball League over the weekend. The Darien 8th grade girls defeated Norwalk, 40-31, in their division. The 8th grade White boys team defeated Trumbull in the title game, 53-45. The 7th grade Blue team beat St. Patrick’s of Bedford, N.Y., 51-40, for the title. The 8th grade girls, coached by Erin McHugh, finished the season at 12-9. Cerebral Palsy Of Westchester Recognizes Building Officials WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Cerebral Palsy of Westchester recognized the New York State Building Officials Conference of Westchester at its recent Ninth Annual Caring Friends Breakfast. The Building Officials have been generous supporters of Cerebral Palsy of Westchester by participating in its annual Taste of Westchester event, bringing Santa Claus to the agency to visit children and by donating toys to its school program. Monday, White Plains native Steve Masiello earned a trip to the tournament as the coach with Manhattan College. New Rochelle Girls Sprint To The Top Of U.S. Charts NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Symone Darius, Ashley Wiggins and their teammates on the New Rochelle girls track 4 x 200 relay team have been among the nation’s swiftest teams during the entire indoor season. This weekend, they will look to prove they are the fastest in the nation. Norwalk Mad Bulls Add State Championship, Win 8 Medals NORWALK, Conn. -- The Mad Bull wrestling squad had eight wrestlers place as top finishers in the recent Connecticut Youth Wrestling Championships. Jeff Cocchia was the lone champion for the day followed by Nemo Harris, Dean Tsiranides, and Jakari Walker, all of whom made it to the finals and placed second. 250 Nonprofits Tally $750K In Donations After Fairfield County Giving Day FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – There were only winners in Friday’s first Fairfield County Giving Day. The biggest one was Curtain Call of Stamford. The online fundraising day was organized by the Fairfield County Community Foundation. In all, the day raised $745,729.64 for more than 250 local nonprofits through online donations. Curtain Call, a nonprofit theater group in Stamford, received 1,890 donations totaling $30,675.
