Cancer Hits Home For Westport Runner In Boston Marathon WESTPORT, Conn. – This year’s Boston Marathon, just the third attempt at the 26.2-mile distance for Westport’s Brett Katzner, will be his most rewarding. Katzner will run the race on Monday, April 21, to support the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute of Boston. He is running in memory of his sister, Tara, who died in 1986 at the age of 14 after a nine-year battle with leukemia. He was just 15 at the time of his sister’s death. Greenwich Marlins Set State Records At YMCA Championships GREENWICH, Conn. -- The YMCA of Greenwich Marlins swim team broke several state records at the Connecticut State Age Group Championships at Wesleyan University in Middletown. The meet featured more than 50 teams. And 51 swimmers from the Marlins, ages 9 to 18, competed in the event. The team made a big splash Thursday evening, with Ailee Mendoza (14) placing first in the 1,650 freestyle event. The 10 & under swimmers excelled for the Marlins. Lowe's Home Improvement To Open Norwalk Store NORWALK, Conn. -- Lowe’s Home Improvement is coming to Norwalk. Cushman & Wakefield of Stamford announced Monday, April 7, that the home improvement retailer has signed a long-term ground lease at 100 Connecticut Ave. for a new one-story, 150,000-square-foot store. Terrorist Attacks Don't Deter Greenwich Runner From Boston Marathon GREENWICH, Conn. – Terrorists didn’t stop Greenwich’s Sally Duval from going on with her life after they killed her brother on Sept. 11, 2001.
