Report: Easton Man Arrested, Had Knife At LaGuardia EASTON, Conn. – Police arrested an Easton man after he tried to get a knife through a security checkpoint on Wednesday at LaGuardia Airport in New York, according to a story on blogctnews.com. Richard Johnson, 49, as charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, the report said. He was booked for a flight to North Carolina. Read the story here.

Harvey Girls Tennis Team Edges Chase KATONAH, N.Y. -- The Harvey School’s girls tennis team evened its record at 2-2 with a 4-3 win Wednesday, April 16, over Chase Collegiate. Freshman singles players Natalia Looney at No. 3 and Janice Cai at No. 4 won their matches by identical 10-2 scores. The No. 2 doubles team of Cai and Brooke Dodderidge picked up a point for Harvey with an 8-3 victory. The Cavaliers also won a match by forfeit. Harvey plays The Masters School on Wednesday, April 26, and is at Katonah Memorial Park on Saturday, April 29, against Watkinson School.

Alec Roslin, Harry Solomon, Zach Schwartz, David Weiner, Bryan Krosser and Jordan Fox won singles matches for Harvey.  "While we did not win any of the doubles matches, players such as Zach Goligoski, Daniel Qiu, Ben He and Terry Yan garnered some valuable playing experience,” coach Tim Cornell said.

First-Quarter Home Sales Spike In Westchester WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. – Single-family home prices in Westchester climbed 16.5 percent and sales increased 19.4  percent in the first quarter of 2014, compared with the same period in 2013, according to a report published Monday by the Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors. There were 925 sales of single-family houses in Westchester in the first quarter of 2014, according to the report, compared with 775 in the same quarter in 2013.
